Sock it to 'em

In the battle to win over your browsing eyes, several dot-coms are using spokesmascots to remind you—on TV, on the Web and on billboards—that their sites are oh so cool.

Of all of the spokesmascots around, we have two favorites. One's cute, one's cheesy (but a good cheesy): the Sock Puppet of Pets.com and William Shatner of Priceline.com.

What if—indulge us for a moment—the two went head-to-head? Who would reign supreme? Shatner, with dozens of fan sites and even an online cult, would seem to have the edge. But Sock Puppet is no wimp—witness his recent lawsuit barking that Triumph, the rude dog on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," is harming his reputation.

Below you'll find the scorecard in our Shatner/Sock Puppet Challenge.
